McFly

McFly ARE my favourite band, they have been for many years and probably will be for longer than 'McFly' as a band is actually in existence.
Your opinion on them WILL NOT change that. They're so much more than just a band that '12- year-old fangirls' listen to.
They're so much more than the fresh-faced teenage boys they were, when they first came onto the scene in 2004;
They're part of my lifestyle and I've already said it, but, I will not change that for anyone.
Those closed-minded people who simply slag them off as 'Teenie' and for '12-year-old kids' those who 'tut' or shake their head in disapproval at the mention of 'McFly' or somehow manage to imply that they're 'not a real band', how stupid and ignorant can you get?

I've met some of the nicest and most understanding people through that band. People who I, as a person, can relate to in everyday life♥ and trust me: they're just human beings, none of them are 'Teenie' or 12 years of age. And even if some of them are younger than me, ~~with a few exceptions~~, they're a lot more mature than they're given credit for.

I've had some of the best times involving or including that band.
I've learnt some of the greatest and most inspiring things from their lyrics. It might sound cheesy to a McFly fan but I've learnt that I'm not alone and that I'll be okay, that the heart never lies and that home is where the heart is, I've realised that I should smile even if I don't know why.
I've found they have lyrics to get me through whatever's going wrong in my life at the time:
Even though they don't know it, it was them and their music that practically got me through my toughest times at high school, they helped me to survive high school in once piece.
They got me through the death of my nan.
They're getting me through the separation of my parents

It's still their music who I turn to when I'm lost, or upset.
At the same time, it'll still be one of their CD's I reach for when I want to jump around and have a laugh with friends or if I need inspiration that I just can't find in anything else.
My tastes in music have grown along with them, just as their music has grown, lyrically and in other ways.
I've practically grown up alongside them, from that 12-year-old starting high school, to the 17-year-old girl struggling to pass her AS-levels.

To some people, McFly fans are the most 'bitchy', well even if this is true, they can also be some of the nicest people on earth.
When they get together they can help McFly acheive anything.
As Tom himself said, they are the most powerful, take the #StargirlInSpace campaign, they wanted it, they got it.

And anyone, ANYONE (trust me on this) who's seen them live will tell you how epic it really is, especially at the standing shows ♥, when you lose yourself in the moment, when suddenly you're not one of the crowd, you are the crowd. When it feels like that is exactly what you should be doing with your life at the moment in time. When you sing along to the songs you know so well, feeling as though the moment should last forever. That's what being a McFly fan's about.

So, anyone who believes for one second that McFly are just a band. Who aren't even that good. Or that McFly fans are all sad little children, with no lives. Or ever wonder how they manage to acheive what they do
That's a major part of my life you're criticizing. Maybe you should look deeper before making judgments, after all, we all look the same in the dark.
